One of the biggest controversies in MRD testing among specialists is what the test results will be used for, since there remains limited data on long-term outcomes. 

In this section, we will discuss how MRD test results could be used to guide myeloma treatment. 

There is a lot of stress surrounding MRD-negativity. At times, one might think it is the sole purpose of myeloma treatment and feel disappointed, even devastated, if they have not achieved MRD negativity. This section will address this topic.

Another topic addressed in this section surrounds one of the biggest patients in the myeloma patient community: can I stop maintenance therapy if I am MRD negative?
